This page explains the process we go through when you visit our
office for orthodontic care to ensure that you receive the best
care possible and that you are fully informed of all aspects of
your treatment:
Initial Visit:
- If you think you or someone in our family might need orthodontic
treatment, call our office to make an initial exam appointment.
- Our friendly staff will follow up your phone call with a welcome
letter to the office that includes information about the staff,
a map to the office and a medical history questionnaire. Prior
to coming to the office, please fill out the questionnaire since
it will save you time once you have arrived.
- When you arrive for your initial orthodontic exam you will be
offered a tour of the office.
- You will then be seen by Dr. Harnick or Anderson for an initial
orthodontic exam where they will answer your questions about such
issues as; do you/your child need braces, what type of treatment
do you/they need and about how long will it take. Information
about approximate fees with a sample contract will be drawn up
for you to review payment options. They will also answer any other
question you have about orthodontic treatment. Normally, this
appointment takes about 15-20 minutes.
Records Appointment:
- If braces are needed you will be offered an appointment at
a later date for initial records (these records include radiographs,
impressions for study models and diagnostic photos). In some cases,
the office schedule allows the initial appointment to be on the
same day, you may be offered an appointment to take records at
that time.
Treatment Consultation:
- When the records are made, you may schedule an appointment for
a consult. Dr.'s Harnick and Anderson are both board certified
orthodontic specialists and both will review your/your child's
records to plan the orthodontic care that best meets the treatment
needs.
- At the consult appointment they will review the records, treatment
plan and other paperwork with you and if you are ready to begin
treatment it may start at that visit.
Orthodontic Treatment:
- Usually visits to the office will be at intervals from 3-6 weeks
until your care is complete.
